BA Retro 747s domestic flights August

Heads up for those interested, I have heard the BA retro 747s are having a day of domestic flying on 25th August, with flights to Glasgow, Newcastle, and Manchester

You've not seen the update from BA today that actually it was a mistake so they're refunding everyone, then?

These flights by 747s have all been changed to A320/A321 aircraft, anyone that has booked and wants a free refund can get one without paying any fee by phoning the number in the email that has been sent to everyone.

Was it a mistake? Did BA cave in to pressure from the environmentalist brigade? Or is it to do with BNLY being stuck in LAS?

What a complete and utter waste of time, hope BA manage to get something sorted this year as they are very popular schemes and deserve to be seen up close by as many as possible.

I heard a similar reason to that EGLL mentioned... environmentalists complaining. Will have a look tonight to see if that is the case.

What a shame... I was really looking forward to these flights :-(
