Avro Vulcan XH558 (A Locomotive)

Post by snowdrop358 »

Hi All,
New to the site and thought two examples of British Engineering at once might be of interest for my first post.

English Electric Type 3 Class 37 Co-Co diesel locomotive 37558 'Avro Vulcan XH558' in British Rail large logo livery as operated by Direct Rail seen yesterday in Norwich Station.

Apparently, this loco was renumbered as well so that the serials coincided.

Not wishing to become embroiled in pedantry... but many Class 37s (and other diesel classes) both clagged and steamed, depending on whether they were fitted with steam heating boilers

XH558, being a Class 37/4 no longer steams however and is a proper thrash and clag beastie of which I totally admire.
Now officially qualifies as a 'regular' at Famous Dave's - El Centro
