Enstone Airframe help please

Post by HeyfordDave111 »

Hi everyone,

While i was learning to fly in a PA28 from Enstone, (this was around the time of the Bristol Freighter ground loop) i noticed and photographed some bits and bobs i need some help identifying if possible please.

A grey Buccaneer (devoid of about the top third of its tail) i think from my sketchy pic its XX889 or 869?
A Vulcan cockpit painted silver and with a small logo on the side of the radome with the word 'planets' over the logo
What looks like a viscount fuselage in BAE colours no wings, elevators or tail

I have pics of these plus pics of bits and pieces of the freighter (bent props, and other stuff), plus something that could be a meteor wing / engine bit.

They seemed to just appear, then while your not looking, disappear so i would be grateful if anyone out there can identify any of these?
Cheers
Dave

Hi B.C.,

fantastic, thank you so much.
I've just rediscovered these photographs so its going to be great to be able to annotate them correctly.
Cheers :worship:

No worries.....I've used the abpic site when searching for stuff in the past & found it to be a very useful resource.

Did the Viscount Cockpit survive anywhere? Good to see the Vulcan did.

I have photos of them all too...

There was also the centre section of a Hunter dumped behind the open hangar too, but never found any id or such for it.

I have a photograph of that with panels open and weeds growing through it.
