Scanner Help

Post by rockfordstone »

Not sure this is the right section so admin please move if needed.

My wife surprised me with a Bearcat UBC 125XLT scanner for Christmas (i know, she's a keeper).

My one question would be where is the best place to get scanner frequencies from? I'm guessing Marham, Lakenheath towers etc would have a generally fixed frequency whilst air shows will be significantly more fluid (i could be way off the mark here)?

If any of you learned bunch has any suggestions of where I could look that would be great.

The Fighter Control forum generally has the most recent frequencies pinned at the top of each airbase sub-forum.

Other alternatives to FC are available.....

Bear in mind that the frequencies are in the middle of one of their occasional changes, as per 138AEW's topic : https://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=84790

I found this forum https://ukradioscanning.com/viewforum.php?f=6 really useful when I bought my 125XLT. Beware that programming can be time consuming and not particularly intuitive!

I entered airshow frequencies, tower frequencies and aerobatic team frequencies and have thoroughly enjoyed using it because it it gives the heads-up for photography!

I bought a copy of Pooly's, it has everything I need to know, but much of it is on the internet anyway.
