Sadly it seems to be true - just been sent a photo of a seizure notice affixed to one at Glasgow, with an update saying also it's happening at Manchester as well.

It's all over most of papers that they have gone/ are going bust. Someone posted a photo Facebook the documents stating that Glasgow Airport had seized one of their aircraft due to non payment but the photo was quickly taken by the group mods.

The media are saying 2000 jobs but loads more depend on them. Southampton is 90% flybe flights so that's everybody from toilet cleaners to controllers who could be affected

The loss of FlyBe is nothing short of a disaster for regional air travel in the UK, no other airline flew many of their routes. A massive backwards step.

Belfast is essentially cut off from the UK by air and other busy routes such as Birmingham to Aberdeen no longer exist - the latter being important to me as it was a rapid daily route to get up to my family in an emergency. It is now a 9-10 hour drive each way.

On top of that it’s horrible to see a mate lose their job, especially one that they clearly loved no matter how much they got ribbed for it. I sincerely hope young Mr Ledwood finds himself a new airline to all home soon and that he lands in his feet.

It's a real shame. I hope everyone who may lose their jobs can find another one super fast. That said, if there is a demand for any of the routes that they exclusively operated, won't another carrier be keen to jump in and take them on?

Seriously? Have you been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks?

It’s affecting transatlantic routes, now US domestic airlines, and IATA are about to revise upwards their estimate of a $30bn impact to the industry. Virgin are already cutting executive pay and asking staff to take unpaid leave.

The view within the industry is that it may well have a bigger impact than 9/11.

Such a shame I only flew on them twice going to Liverpool a few years ago and last year to Belfast it was a great airline.

I hope that a Phoenix airline will arise from the Fly-be ashes. I know somebody who was with BMi Regional then joined Flybe 18 months ago and had just brought a house near the airport to be closer to Exeter. Exeter has one Tui flight today, thats it, same again tomorrow. Southampton has 4 Aurigny flights and an Easyjet. The demand is there, the aircraft are sitting idle (unsure they ley are leased or owned?) and the staff want to work. I can see Virgin/Stobart creating a new company with about 10 dash 8's out of Exeter, Southampton and maybe Belfast on the routes that were profitable. The debts were probably just too big and starting again was the only option. Just like when a football club goes bankrupt and new one appears at the same ground with a slightly diffrent legal name.

Many of the railway operating companies have said staff and passengers of Flybe will be able to travel home for free, on production of airline ID card or valid travel documents, they didn't have to but a very nice gesture towards people who are stuck away from home.

This collapse has also hit Stobart Air at Southend, Flybe had 10 routes from Southend, luckily EasyJet, Ryanair and Stobart Air flights operated by AerLingus are unaffected.
