Accidental Rafale ejection - report

Post by Talllankydude »

Morning!
Saw this report in the Guardian this morning. A 64 yr old civilian accidentally ejected himself from the rear seat of a Rafale B. Seems very unfortunate in that a) he seems not to have really wanted the ride and b) he pulled the seat handle. Seems he was OK, and the pilot didn't leave the aircraft and got it down safely. There's a link in the piece to the actual report but it's in French.

Was reading about this on the Pprune site. Remarkable stuff, comes over very badly re "quality control"

and the pilot didn't leave the aircraft

Only because the ejection system failed though, scary.
