The topic for this week's competition is the Sydney Camm's beautiful Hawker Hunter. Looking forward to seeing your offerings, usual limit of 5 per post.

Two GA11s at Kemble, each masquerading as WB188: one in Sky and the other in the red in which Neville Duke took it through the world speed record.

I believe this scheme is considered Marmite: put me down for a jar or two please.

Hi chaps, here's my 5.....oddly featuring formations

Not in the competition, but this one was my favourite Wrecks and Relics find, and one of my best aircraft memories.....
F.1 WT660, listed as 'Cullen' in Scotland. Spent 3 hours in 1998 trying to find it, resulting in enquiries in a pub some 5 miles
away, where a group of local farmers were having a drink, and between them, gave me the wrong road, wrong farm name,
and wrong aircraft name (Procter)....and yet, even with vague information, still found it around 2 miles from the pub.
Heard some banging coming from a workshop on the farm. Inside a grumpy little old man resembling Foggy, was banging a
hammer on a Merlin engine. At which point, I thought this might be the right place. "Do you keep an old aircraft here ?"
"Aye...it's in the meadow behind the farmhouse". "May I ask what it is please ?" "Aye....it's a Hunter."
"Any chance I could have a quick look at it please ?" "Aye....I'll take you round the back for a bit". Result.

Rupe

P.S. wish me luck, currently self-isolating with Covid, nasty flu stuff. Hope you chaps have escaped it :grimacing:
Name someone who loves you enough to die for you. I can only think of 1.......there is only 1

Hi all,

Some fantasic shots of Hunters, great to see lots of old shots too.

As always a tough decision choosing a winner. Special mentions to Draken's 2nd and 5th shot, Sarah and her shot of the blue Hunter. But I keep coming back to Nick's shot of XG194, the sun hitting the HAS and reflecting off the gloss black Hunter is just lovely.

Over to you Nick.

Regards

Niall
