July 3rd - Fly Navy

Post by Chris G »

Navy Wings have come out and said on their social media that the Supermarine Seafire XVII will be displaying at the Fly Navy show, excellent start!

Alas steer clear of Cosford due to horrendous stories of traffic jams with some people not even getting as far as the gate, turning round and going home, as half of the West Midlands decends on it. Much better opportunities for access and photos at Old Warden.

Just looked at the Shuttleworth Website which now shows the aircraft participation list. May get shot down for this but do we think there will be any more visitors, whilst the TFM attendance is fantatsic I have held off getting a ticket in the hope of seeing some of the Historic Helicopters Fleet confirmed for this event, especially hoping for the Wessex.

Their Wessex is in Royal Navy colours?

And agreed. That would be a decent addition.

I also note that despite Navy Wings confirming the Seafire and Texan displays, those aren’t on the Shuttleworth list yet, so hopefully more to be added.

Although not on Shuttleworths official list that has been posted over the last few days, the Navy Wings Spitfire and Harvard are still down to fly at the event with their wasp and reliant in static. This comes from their own web site.

Prefer them to fly the Wasp and leave the Harvard on static to be honest. OW has seen plenty of the Harvard in the past.
