No more Draken at Nellis
Re: No more Draken at Nellis
Coincident with the official announcement on RAF website that Draken have been awarded the 'Red Air' contract for the MOD.....
Interesting that the RAF pointed out in that press release that Draken provide the same service to the USA.....which is technically correct for another couple of months at least......
I wonder how long before there are rumours as to why they have not had their contract renewed at Nellis......and whether that will make the MOD's decision to award them a contract to do same here a wise decision...or not?

The 65th will be standing up with aircraft soon won't they? Just imagine a squadron of multi-coloured 35As as aggressors instead of Scooters and Honey Badgers...
Now officially qualifies as a 'regular' at Famous Dave's - El Centro

I suspect that imagine is all you'll be able to do. They'll be grey due to the radar and infra-red absorbing coatings.spellow3010 wrote: ↑Mon 11 Apr 2022, 7:04 amThe 65th will be standing up with aircraft soon won't they? Well, the Danes can put colour on theirs... so the very least we can expect are some red stars

The 64th are already flying F-35s alongside their F-16s and sadly they are marked normally.spellow3010 wrote: ↑Mon 11 Apr 2022, 7:04 amThe 65th will be standing up with aircraft soon won't they? Just imagine a squadron of multi-coloured 35As as aggressors instead of Scooters and Honey Badgers...
I suspect we will start to see F-117 appearances at Nellis too when exercises are on.
After the Red Hats lost an aircraft the other year (reported as an Su-27), it does make you wonder what else that unit has in it’s toy box.
