5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
Weather is looking decidedly dodgy for tomorrow, with a yellow weather warning being put out for the Bedfordshire area!

Looking at weather it'll be a day of cloud and home based aircraft displaying as rain early am and late pm can't see visitors getting in bbmf sounds like scrubbed day
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
I am at Shuttleworth in my motorhome. It has been raining hard all night. Pools of water on the field. Sadly, I for one will be aborting and going home. I really feel for the organisers and the people in the queue waiting to go in.
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
On closer inspection I can see pools of water on the runway and the access roads have some huge puddles.
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
I'm about 30 mins away and wouldn't be surprised if it gets called off, the rain this morning was immense, really long heavy downpour. With more rain forecast.

Lots off standing water especially on roads approaching que is on roadway as grass waiting area is water logged with big puddles
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
Silence is deafening from Shuttleworth though…
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
I'm afraid that they have your money & don't really worry if you p**s away a tank of fuel getting there for little or nothing!. They will fly whatever they can when they want if they can. It's on a need to know basis & they don't want to tell you. Amazingly Shuttleworth rely on the fact that their client-base is immune from disappointment, BUT things are a changing in peoples perception!
Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
I've got a 200 mile round trip. Already bought a ticket, but the fuel cost is the same again. Was thinking about making the journey, but a combination of the poor outlook and the motorway being even more knackered than usual, I decided to give it a miss.
Hope those who have made the journey have a decent day.

Apparently the flying starts at 2:30 today.

Re: 5th June - Jubilee Flying Circus
We did get a small flying display from around 2:30 until the weather closed in at around 4:30
Piper Cub towing a 'God Save the Queen' banner
Hawk Speed Six
Barnstorming (Martlet, Tiger Moth, Cub & Chipmunk)
Chipmunk (with ribbons)
F.2B
EoN Glider
S.E.5A
Provost
Had a decent time as I was already there and the flying displays were as good as I was expecting with the cloudy conditions.
