Arrivals 2022

Post by JonG96 »

Hi.
I just thought I'd make a thread about arrivals as we are only two weeks away from the show now.
Currently, I've seen a few 14-day forecasts predicting a sunny day with not much wind, and I would be over the moon. Even though the weather can change at any time :D
Which days are people thinking of going down to Cosford for the arrivals? Friday, Saturday or both?
What kind of aircraft are you particularly excited to see?
Just a general discussion about your Cosford plans after not having a show for a few years :)
As we haven't had a show since 2019, I'm really excited to attend both Saturday and Sunday again.

I'm heading down to the museum on the Saturday, only been to Cosford once before on airshow day and didn't get to the museum, so will be spending the day there and hopefully lots of arrivals/practices.

I fancy going on the Friday as I am free that day too. I haven't been on a Friday before though. Is it usually lively that day?

Ok, nice. I might come down on the Friday and see what happens. Probably won't stay as long as I will on the Saturday though.

All being well, same for me. Tempted to take a day off for Friday. But with the current list as it is, it looks a bit sparse for two days worth of arrivals!

I’ll be on the platform on Saturday, it can be an IRL episode of the UKAR podcast🤣

I'm a definitely maybe for the Saturday. I haven't swung a long lens for nine months. If I don't get my eye in the show day might be a bit of a shambles for me!

I've never been to Cosford for arrivals before, where would be the best places to go for photography?

The train station platform is the best (only, really) place to go. No ticket barrier or anything, just park and head up.

Just wondering if people going on the Friday could give updates on which aircraft arrive or practice so I know what to look out for on the Saturday
Thanks

May be more but that's all I know of so far

I wonder if the Belgians will use Shawbury, they've seemed pretty keen on Brize in the past 🤔

Odd that some of the statics like the Puma are heading there. Hopefully they’re flying it in on the day.

In the past, have aircraft heading to Shawbury flown overhead Cosford on the way? I mean deliberately, rather than just because it's on the way anyway.
