It’s an evolving experience that’s due! From a visit today just 6 Bulldogs & 9 Chipmunks on the field tonight. Extreme heat for operating the aircraft & Pilots will result in a reduced attendance. Most importantly the take-off time is now 13:15 with the aircraft forming over Thorney Island to an initial formation fly-through down the western side of the Airfield (Lavant Straight in race circuit terms?) continuing to Storrington via the Parham Gliding Club overhead! Recommended Photo location by the pilots.Goodwood ATC will not permit formation/ multiple take-offs, OR overhead formation breaks to land on rtb. Hope you find a good spot for whatever transpires.🤞

Rumour control says aircraft around Worthing area between 14:10 to 14:40, seems they are not flying to seaford anymore, just to Storrington then Worthing and back Goodwood, so my idea of watching bulldogs chasing chipmunks at the Hummingbird restaurant, at Shoreham airport has gone out the window 😄

Has anybody seen an update on the number of aircraft present at Goodwood Airfield today?
Thanks to Offbreed for the latest rumours. As noted in my previous posting, this is more of a 'fluid situation' than would be preferable!
I presume but haven't checked, that the Notam has been amended to suit Plan B/Mk IIc?

11 Chipmunks & 7 Bulldogs airborne around 13:30. One other unidentified Chipmunk outside Spitfiresc.Com + a Stearman both not in the formation. Nice day for it anyway!

An impressive sight and sound over Storrington, nice seeing the residents from the ex RAFA care home watching from their patio.

looked and sounded great over Storrington, I saw a single Chipmunk on FR24 heading over Thorney it didn't seem to be going anywhere they must have all been grouping up, is it normal for only the lead aircraft to have the GPS on?

Nothing to do with GPS but yes, in a formation it is expected that only one aircraft will have their transponder on.

Formation flew over us about 1.30ish near Rustington on the south coast. 4 formations of 4 plus one some distance behind (perhaps one wit transponder). Mixture of chipmunks and bulldogs. Lovely sound
