Yes more Kingfisher photos

Post by helired3 »

All taken from a public hide over the last few weeks ive seen one adult male kingfisher and two juveniles the adult male is the most confident and isn't bothered by the sound of the camera shutter. its a busy time for them now as some pairs are on the last brood of the year. i didn't see the pike eaten but it did fly off with it.

Lovely shots Ian. Credit for opening up on working from a Hide; I've got some of my best KF images from Hide work (using one in S Lincs). It still comes down to focus and timing. Great metering too, that white patch on the throat and neck can become easily over-exposed, especially with channel changes to boost saturation. A very nice set to see, thanks for posting.

Excellent, I can't believe it caught a Pike 😮
I know Pike will take ducklings, I wonder if one has ever caught a Kingfisher?

Cheers,
Jeff

I am always impressed by Kingfisher photos. Every time I see a Kingfisher, I only see it because there is a flash of blue and then it is gone, and it doesn't come back - I'm yet to catch one on camera. Perhaps more patience is needed.

Lovely photos, thankyou for sharing them.
