Midlands Air Festival 2022

Post by vulcanshammer »

The (truncated) 2021 display season may be complete, but we can now look forward to what will hopefully be a better 2022!

A few weeks ago the Midlands Air Festival began announcing their first participants for the 2022 show which will be held over 3 days on 2-4 June. With Nightfire taking place on the Friday evening and full airshow days Saturday and Sunday. Hot air balloon launches Friday and Saturday.

Strikemaster Pair - BAC Strikemaster Mk80A/Mk82A x 2
Jet Provost - BAC Jet Provost T5
Team Raven - Vans RV8 x 5
Tiger 9 Display Team - DH Tiger Moth x 9

Tickets and hotel booked for Friday and Saturday. The balloons are the big draw for me but will also enjoy the airshow element. Do they have the warbirds land on site, obviously not the JP, or is it just the light stuff like the RV?

Last year Tiger Moths, Stampes, Chipmunks, Auster and the helicopters landed. So yes, its the light stuff on the ground. The strip isn't very long, and there are lots of trees about. Its a smashing event.
its time to kick the tyres and light the fires
