Is this a static event/fly-in event only? No displays?

Vampire T11 WZ507 from Coventry isn't down sadly. Line up is superb, but would be great if she was also to attend.

Yes, on the other side of the airfield.

I doubt if I'll be going to this event, but I might, but either way the arrow on this map is close to where the 'Squadron Cafe' is.

Best directions are to enter the airfield at the guardhouse, turn left and follow the perimeter track around until you get to the cafe. Best to ignore both postcodes offered they will lead you astray!

Thanks for the info, but I still need to know which postcode to enter into the satnav. It will not accept "North Weald Airfield main gate as an address....
nothing is confirmed at a show until its u/c hits the tarmac or it is running in for its display.....

The main gate is on Merlin Way, which is given as CM16 6HR on the Airfield website.

There's only one way in and out, so as long as you can find Merlin Way on the sat nav then you're there.

Does your satnav only permit postcodes? Mine, an el-cheapo TomTom allows direct entry of 'points of interest' by placing a finger on the point I wish to drive to. I can then save it should I want to. Perhaps you need to look at the devices's manual.

I think that the advice here might be to use Google Maps on a smart phone. If that is true then Google maps gives directions to The Squadron which uses the main runway at North Weald. Not the best solution!

Perhaps they should rename it "GnatandJPfest".

Top Gun is an 110 minutes long according to Wikipedia, odd they're only showing the first (presumably!) hour.

Also why the different in Saturday and Sunday admission? Saturday is for "Gnat Display Team Guests and Public" whereas Sunday is for "public and photographers". Is there a difference? Do you get different access or something. Bit odd...

They’ve already said the timings are an estimate and that the film will probably be shown earlier

They said on Facebook Top Gun is more likely to start to be shown around 7:30 or 8pm.

Also thought that. Info is still scarce even though there's a timetable. Could perhaps mean on Saturday all the other aircraft arrive at North Weald so the public won't be able to get up close to them until later on?

I suspect the bulk of the aircraft will arrive tomorrow in advance of the night shoot.

I would guess it's just a different way of phrasing it as the Saturday includes the private meeting for jet operators. Saturday is the main day. Sunday more relaxed.
