Full update: We're delighted to be able to confirm a large contingent of aircraft from the Italian Air Force will be heading to RIAT 2022! The Frecce Tricolori are always one of the highlights of the RIAT flying display, and they will be joined by a host of solo displays from the Reparto Sperimentale di Volo. In addition, we'll be welcoming a number of aircraft for static display, highlight of which will be a final appearance of the AMX before it's retirement from service... Viva Italia!

Aircraft from RAF Mildenhall join the USAF 75th Anniversary celebrations at RIAT 2022! The 352nd Special Operations Wing will exhibit their MC-130J & CV-22B on static display, accompanied by their specailist vehicles and equipment. We will also have the legendary KC-135 Stratotanker on static display.

Work continues behind the scenes on the flying display scheduling, and static display parking plan. We are in a very strong position at this stage, with the static displays now looking extremely full with more aircraft to be announced in the coming weeks once the final approvals are in place for their participation. In addition, we are planning to extend the duration of the flying display due to the number of notified participants!

We're pleased that our friends from the RAF Microlight Flying Association, Halton Aero Club and RAF Waddington Flying Club will all be returning to RIAT, with their aircraft joining the static displays as part of our Training theme.

Sadly, we have been notified this week that the Finnish Army are no longer able to attend RIAT 2022. In addition, two civilian aircraft have also withdrawn from the static

You can't have one!

Fingers crossed for the special scheme MB339(s) in the static display.

Some great support from Italy - not just the flying displays, but also the AMX and T339 - fantastic stuff.

Big shame about the Finnish NH-90 😢

I'm up to 173 aircraft on the ground during the show weekend, not including spares, support or visitors (or anything on arrivals/departure days).

Quality support from Italy once again! RSV sending exactly what I expected them to! :grinning:

Particularly pleased to see the AMX & T-339, are there any AMXs still painted in special schemes? I know they had about 3 a couple of years ago...but no airshows :frowning2:

Happy Mildenhall are supporting with everything again as well. Not to much standard RIAT fayre on the ongoing list now, outside the RNLAF, so the next few weeks might be interesting hopefully

Any ideas what the civilian aircraft are?

It would be nice to see cancellations listed - I like to keep track of it!

Very happy to see the AMX and the T-339!!

Disappointed about Croatia not attending but I guess they dont have the financial capability. Great support from Italy, and good news about the longer flying display. Only a flying Italian tornado could top this update but I think they dont have a demo anymore.

Not taken them off yet whatever they are. As long as its not the Meteor, Hunter, Gazelle or Wessex, I'm OK with the rest.

Quite - though I'd add the Sea King, Sabre, and 727 to that list!

I get the impression that somebody high up in the Italian Air Force has thoroughly enjoyed a visit or two to RIAT back in the day. There continued support of RIAT is immense.
