Why? Look at the situation, it is changing every day. By next weekend things may be very different to today...

Currently, the weather for Friday looks like light cloud but a cool 12 degrees. Warming slightly over the weekend with sunny intervals but nothing like this weekend.

I'm sort of resigned to thinking it'll go, the situation is changing so rapidly every day.

Fingers crossed we get this one at least...

Display Item 6: The Finale!

Reminiscent of the Great Warbirds airshows of the 80s, the final Display with be the Aero Legends Finale! That’s the Tigers, Harvards, Dakotas, Spitfires and Mike Pickin in his CAP 232 closing each day with a spectacular, smoke filled aerobatic display!

Looking at the latest showground map, unless you laid for premier access you won't be able to get on the fence. Bit of a blow but I'll just be glad to get to a show this year.
Also a bit of a weird one but they are requesting you don't bring your own food and drink. Seems pretty shortsighted for a covid secure event, surely the safest thing to do is not go in the restaurants or use the food stalls and stay in your own area?

I think its a request regarding food and drink rather than being mandatory. I'm planning on taking some drinks and snacks but I will also use the restaurant.

I'm looking forward to it now, and the weather looks pretty good at the moment.

As well as the Covid-related issues, I do hope they have sorted out their admission process. Anyone who went on the Saturday last year will know what I mean. Standing in a queue for over an hour for someone eventually to look at your ticket was totally unacceptable by any measure. 🤞

They'd fixed that by Sunday last year.

It is indeed a request but I would say a totally irresponsible request given the current situation. How can they on the one hand be claiming to be covid secure and then at the same time be encouraging people to queue up at food outlets and then purchase food prepared by someone else? Just seems a completely unnecessary thing to encourage at a socially distanced event, surely the best advice is to encourage people to stay in their spot all day except to use the toilets?

Is there a reason for them requesting you buy food on-site? Very odd

Surprised this is still on,with sporting events cancelled where football clubs wanted to have just a thousand in a five thousand stadium they have been stopped.Do not know what the crowd limit is but I for one will give it a miss in spite of having bought a ticket especially with infection rates climbing on a daily basis now.

Like you, I'm surprised (but pleased) that the event is proceeding as planned because I bought a 3-day ticket. I phoned Aero Legends yesterday because the website had not been updated since September 21st. They confirmed that the show is going ahead and within minutes, I received a confirmation email.

As others have said, it seems illogical to encourage people not to take their own food and drink, but I guess money talks.

I will attend whichever days have the best forecast and make every effort to keep my distance from others!

According to Aero Legends Q&A for the air show-
Q. What food concessions are there?
A. There is an on-site cafe, Wings Bar @wingsbarheadcornaerodrome plus food outlets around the site.

Q. Can I bring a picnic
A. Yes

Q. Can I bring a BBQ?
A. No
So if you class what ever food you take as a picnic you're OK.

Real mixed messages!

From the News page of the website https://www.bobairshow.co.uk/news/atten ... w-read-me/

"Can I bring my own food and alcohol?

Care has been taken to ensure that the bars and food concessions are of a great quality and a fair price, therefore we politely request that you do not."

Wings bar, despite being a very good establishment will be swamped in 5 mins. It’s tiny and the ‘covid secure’ 2m queue will stretch to Ashford. There are queues to order a beer on a normal day!

I think we are aware that it's a request, the reason I brought the subject up was because it seems a frankly bonkers request right now.

It’s a bonkers request for any event in this country to make. Reminds me of Radom airshow where they were confiscating bottles of water upon entry ...

This seems badly worded, I would guess they don't want people bringing alcohol rather than food, that does sound totally odd

It would seem like they are simply trying to maximise income, and asking people to buy locally to do so.

No doubt there will be mutiny if they try to confiscate picnics!

Does anyone know the current status of the Lancaster? Is it airworthy? I seem to recall reading somewhere it had an issue a few weeks back?
Loafer for Mr. Da Vinci.
