Thanks for the replies about P&V access. it might have to be a trip to west for the Swedish jets then.

Didn’t think P&V West was open on the Friday show day. I assumed it was showground only. Website only advertises Thurs, Fri & Mon unless I’ve missed something.

I think you are correct, it was clarified some pages ago. P&V is not avaliable on Friday. East is incorporated into the show ground and west is still there via a shuttle bus, but you need a show ticket for access.

Edit:

P&V west at green entrance is still open Friday (think you need a full show ticket though to gain access). If you want to catch arrivals and flying that day….
This is very interesting Andy, is this officially confirmed? I can see no mention of it on the website, and can't remember it ever being open in previous years, but given the Swedes are due in Friday this is the place I and I'm sure many others would want to be for their arrival.
The footprint of Park and View West is part of the public showground on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. So if you enter via the Green Customer Entry Point, you're already in that area. (It will not be called Park and View, it is part of the show). On Saturday and Sunday, you'll be able to walk there from anywhere on the showground. On Friday, if you're parked in another car park, you'll need to use the shuttle bus which takes customers to/from the Green CEP to get down there, as the Green Zone is closed to visitors whilst we park up the last of the static display aircraft ready for the weekend show days. (You'll of course need a Friday ticket to enter).

I have showground tickets, I'll take the shuttle to access that area.

Black Eagles just flew over the house enroute to Poole for a flypast - very impressive!

Why does the BAE Systems hangar look so knackered? Don't recall it looking that bad in the past?

The AW149 for the flying Display seems to be one from the Italian Airforce, ADSB shows a Military AW149 from the Aeronautica Militare in the waiting pattern for Fairford. So it wont be a civilian livery one but a borrowed one.

What was the purpose of the Hungarian A319? It landed and departed immediately? Doesn't a support aircraft usually hang around for a period of time to drop off whatever is needed? (Or is my understanding of a support aircraft a little off)

I am waiting for Sundays running order as coming on the coach and always miss the first 30-60 minutes, so would like to know what I am likely to miss.

That AW149 demo looks nice, wouldn't mind if it fills the gap left by the B-52 on the weekend.

The A319 dropped off what it needed to. Its otherwise in the way so off it goes.

The AW149 has a Westland callsign so its being borrowed.

Blimey the crew must have catapulted what ever was needed, they were gone before the wheels had time to warm up on the tarmac!

Thanks

My dad purchased one at P&V West. £20. Asked about one for tomorrow but was advised to purchase on the gate. Plenty of room in West today.

Looks like the Czech Air Force Gripen's only finished their Baltic Air Policing mission today which explains why they couldn't attend RIAT.
