Unlikely, but seeing as Bournemouth were able to get the Draken a few years back, it'd be great if Eastbourne could do the same. Probably won't be able to justify the cost.

MW763 at Sywell is almost there. Last report on Facebook (over a year ago!) said they were awaiting for the engine overhaul to be completed.

Bit optimistic perhaps considering it hasn't even flown yet, if they pull it of will be one of the highlights of the season.

Seems to me that somebody is definitely 'pulling it off' in one respect or another! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If that can be achieved in the timeframe, that'll be one hell coup! When was the last time a Hawker Tempest displayed at an airshow in the UK? The 1950's?

Later than that, as in the 70’s/80’s LA607 was on the scene ^ not sure if it displayed or if it was mostly static!

I meant specifically displayed at an airshow, in the flying display not on static. I believe LA607 was engine ran at Duxford a number of times and did a fast taxi in the 80s but didn’t specially fly in the display.

After going to Bournemouth last year and being very disappointed at the spectator experience (south facing, glare, mist, distance) is Eastbourne any better.

Nope. Never engine run, let alone fast taxied

You're looking south east rather than south, so the light is a bit better later on. Bournemouth at least has a bit of elevation, Eastbourne doesn't, and Beachy Head isn't worth visiting any more from what I can gather.

Ok. Was quoted as someone seeing it at Duxford from a Facebook group of course hardly the most reliable source.

That's a good line up considering, i don't usually do seaside shows but i think i will make an exception for this. Fingers crossed for the Tempest.

In the past the warbirds operated from Shoreham i'd imagine a similar arrangment this year, unsure about wether the P-47 would though.

The P-47 was unserviceable and missed Old Buckenham at the weekend
