Well done to the Estonian M28 crew who managed to land closer to the 09 numbers than the 27 numbers, presumably their lowest forward airspeed was higher than their highest taxiing speed!

T'other Royal Navy Merlin (the HM2, rather than the HC4 that cancelled a while back)

Worth pointing out that there's been a good handful of both out flying today, I know that's no reason why they should be able to make it but it must be annoying even for the crews to know they could get to attend an airshow but for whatever reason they now can't!

I'm sure the exact same thing happened a few years ago with a Navy Merlin!

did the special Lakenheath F-15E show up?
Yup it turned up with the F35 and both did a low pass before long finals.
Looked lovely, hope it’s the display aircraft.

Saw quite a few ambulances with blue lights lit heading across the runway at the 27 end. It was about lunchtime, did anyone hear anything another their scanners. Hope all was well but looked like something was up.

Did anyone just hear that on Planes TV stream? Potentially one B-52 will still make it
Probably just like any media outfit, it will either be 'we told you first' , or they will just pretend they ever mentioned it.

Might've been a practice drill?

So having been told it was cancelled, it appears its cancellation has now been cancelled and it's on its way after all. Blummin' sailors.

"must be annoying even for the crews to know they could get to attend an airshow but for whatever reason they now can't!"

You assume that all crews enjoy being at an airshow all weekend ? I am sure some do and if they volunteer for it that's good, but some pilots / crew might want to spend weekends with their families.

Isn't it their job to be tasked to different duties, one of which is airshows?

I mean I don't like that I work certain shifts but it's my job.

For what it's worth my Grandad used to love being sent to airshows - it was a big party to him & his colleagues.

If only the Sk.60s could un cancel.

For those who are hanging on, there's a few bits in the hold including A-340 & An-30.

Goodness me, this Black Eagles rehearsal so far :open_mouth:
The break and rejoin into that sort of carousel to land is genius and the way they widen the formations by stretching out the gaps rather than adding an aircraft to either side looks effortless.

The F-35 behind the F-15 was like a looking at a weasel behind a roaring lion.
And let’s remember it will be the 50th anniversary of the F15s first flight in a couple of weeks

I also love how aggressive they are with the formation changes.

The Black Eagles use formations with space so brilliantly, giving the show lots of impact. Other teams take note 😏

We did have a Polish C295 on the field today, has it departed yet or? The M28 from Poland showed as a no go for Friday so may just arrive tomorrow with the others
