Just received the e-mail for Sanicole. Looks great! No info however for the spottersdays at saturday and monday at KB. Is there confirmation that the spottersdays will be held? Important to know as otherwise I and my fellow spotters might want to attend the airshow in case the spottersdays are not held. Hope that some info can be shared before the tickets sale will start. Thanks Theo

Yes, that will also start tomorrow, 10AM Belgian time.
PS: It's now added to spottersday.be, no idea how that happened

I've had to make the decision not to attend this year with everything going on, which is a shame. Too much risk at the moment. Hope to return next time.

I would really like to attend this year but I think I'm coming around to the same way of thinking after Boris' statement yesterday and the ongoing uncertainty.

Its a cracking list and possibly a clue to a few more participants too.

Greek Air Force ‘Zeus’ F16 demo added to the flying display

That’s 3 F16 solo displays - Belgian/ polish / Greek

What a line up so far at sanicole - clearly the Airshow of the year in Europe !

(Wonder if RAF Cosford can share anything with this mighty event)

I'm not convinced Cosford would try. Its only a personal hunch, and an opinion, but I would expect that if Cosford goes ahead it would be a smaller and more domestic Cosford than the 'full hit' we've become accustomed to over the last few years. Just a hunch/realistic expectations in these strange times. I'll be happily surprised if different.
its time to kick the tyres and light the fires

What has Cosford got to do with Sanicole exactly? They are in completely separate countries hundreds of miles apart and totally different events. And also no-one can travel between them at the moment.

Stop worrying about the grass on the other side all the time. 2021 was always going to be a challenge and there is no guarentee that either will take place.

The line up for the show is cracking.

Are any other UK members still hoping to travel?

I'm trying to get my head around the requirements and I'm roughly at the following:

For two people, assuming both France and Belgium are on the green list & that we're both fully vaccinated we'd still need negative Covid tests before we head out and head back. Eurotunnel site says this needs to be a private test which cost a minimum of £57 per person, per test, so we'd need four.

Then the UK government site also says that we'd need to have the above tests for when we get back into the country. I'm assuming that the same test results will apply to this as well but I'm not sure. My work gets free lateral flow tests but I don't think these will do.

There are other headaches to consider with Brexit disruption and the idea of sending off a test to be ready for the return journey whilst in Belgium seems stressful.

The cost of fully flexible Eurotunnel tickets is also completely unaffordable.

In addition you have to factor in the possibility of regulations changing at any point (green to amber) etc which will just ruin the holiday experience.

I'm going to give it until the next update from the government before I cancel my accomodation, but I'm interested to know how any other members are making it work?

Why would you assume the Belgian F-16 solo display has cancelled? If you mean the social media posts earlier today that said 'cancelled': Vador was planned to do a practice display over KB but this was weather-scrubbed because of conditions at Florennes.

The line up looks outstanding. I have booked tickets for the 4 days and have a hotel on hold. Will wait until a few days beforehand before I confirm travel/hotel. But its more than 2 months away and thankfully the vaccination rate is increasing daily.
I remain optimistic (albeit with crossed fingers)

Chrissie thanks for keeping us UK enthusiasts informed.

Yes. Big thanks to the Sanicola Team for their positive outlook and updates. Have tickets for the show and spotterday / Tiggermeet. Planning to fly via Amsterdam and make the week of it.

Happy to be here :)

Meanwhile, we have added another Belgian act to the line-up and it's a new one for the 2021 season, Stijn De Jaeghere with his wonderfully restored T-6 Texan bringing a full demonstration.

Another airforce joins our line-up, the Danish airforce sends the Baby Blue team with five T-17 trainers.

As Clearstone pointed out, the Royal Navy did indeed confirm the participation of the Wildcat Demo Team to our show in September.

We are very happy to welcome the Italian airforce again In September with no fewer than three of their amazing solo displays: theT-346 Master, the EF-2000 Typhoon and the C-27 Spartan! All three types are making their debut at Sanicole.

Great looking show, do they usually put on a live stream for this one?
