No direct service. Take bus 401 to Eindhoven Railway Station, there change to bus 121 to Uden, from there catch a shuttle bus to the base. But don't expect traveltime to be much less than 90 minutes.

Gates normally open between 08:00 and 09:00.

Spotting Group Volkel and 4Aviation have organised a BBq at the end of the spottersday and also arrange a improvised camping place at a field next to the airfield.

Hi,
Just a question for anybody who was at the last Luchtmachtdagen at Volkel:

I know that some flying aircraft park with the static, and some park on the other side of the airfield, at a place called 'Safari Park'. Were the aircraft on the Safari Park visible from the crowdline or was the only chance to see the aircraft when they arrived? I am asking because I am coming this year to Volkel but can only be there for show day, and was wondering as a spotter whether I will be able to see all of the spare aircraft if they are parked on the other side?
Thanks
Harry

The aircraft are usually parked together, so display aircraft + spare. It's not as if for instance the display F-16 of Belgium is parked crowdside but its spare hidden away on the non-public side. If something is parked at the "wrong" side of the airfield, it's both the display and spare plane you'll find there.

Not via any means I know of, perhaps a Dutch spotter could give a definite answer.

You only can see all the flying spare inbounds, but after that no visual at the spares. The spotterplaces are closed from 10 june till the end of the Luchtmachtdagen, ME does strict controls. (been there, done it)
