Confirmation email that I received yesterday.

Dear Sir/Madam

Firstly, we would like to thank you for your interest in our event. Hosting the Nato Tiger Meet is an honor for us and we will do our best to meet your expectations.

You are receiving this email as a confirmation of your registration to the Spotters Day (May Friday 17th). We would like to thank you for providing us with all the pieces of information and documents required, this will allow us to expedite the security checks and "in processing".

Here are the points to keep in mind about the event:

Access will not be allowed prior to 0845am (local time). The space is limited in front of the base entrance, please do not arrive too early and limit the number of vehicles where possible.

Attached to this email is a pass to fill out, it is required to be printed and displayed on your windscreen, being clearly visible from outside. If you do not have your car insurance yet, please send it over as soon as possible. If you plan to use a rental car, we will have to process it together with the payment.

The patch and the ticket for the lunchbag will be given in tents which will be clearly identified next to the base entrance, it is also where we will take payment (remember, credit card preferable to cash).

The spotting site will be located between the taxiway and the runway (south of the latter). This will give you the opportunity to take stunning pictures of taxi out / back, take-off, landing ... It is important to use the garbage containers provided as the area is sensitive to FOD.

Crossing the taxiway will require a coordination with the tower (ATC) and will be possible 4 times during the day. Before the first taxi out and after the last taxi back of each wave. Please, be disciplined about this

Generally, you will be in an operational aeronautical environment, please respect the procedures and directions that you will receive. Any failure to comply, could lead you to being escorted out of the base.

Use of stepladders: a line will be drawn on the grass of the spotting area. It will represent the forward limit for these equipment. Please respect it at all times.

Do not hesitate to come back to us for any questions you may have. Bare in mind that we are receiving hundreds of demands a day...

Once again, thank you for your registration, we are convinced that you will have a great day and take amazing pictures!"

Tiger Tiger Tiger,

Spotters Day Team

Had a quick check on Google Maps and the runway is to the north of the spotting area.

Anyone else had their confirmation a month ago and not realised!!!!

Thankfully got picked up when todays prepayment email arrived. Looks like they are now sensibly taking payment in advance which should speed up access on the day. No Paypal though but should be able to do it from online banking I think. Not worked out if there are charges.

Given that both Rafale and PdF are down to display on the 18th dare we suspect a public open day on the Saturday?? Or a closed mil event??

Families day/VIP event - closed to public.

Not sure whether it is worth hanging around on the Saturday off base, to see if anything else flies?

Nice nod to D-day there, a real stripe overload but not the best effort by a long chalk. Wonder what CEAM will come up with...
