Trying to sort this out. Trying to find accomodation that works with train access rather than hiring a car if I can.

Any tips for a first timer to this show.

I think you'll struggle without a car, the airfield is a fair way outside the nearest town.

Car looking to be considerably cheaper and easier

Just need to work out how to buy a ticket for each day now. :O
No indication what you are buying when you go through the process. Tried messaging them and I'm still none the wiser. They say I need a ticket for each day but I don't see how to do that

I see a 2-day pass on the booking website :

Pass 2 jours (Voir conditions) 44,00 €

Pass deux jours (une personne) incluant une visite de l’exposition statique avions de 10h à 12h00
2-day pass (1 person) including one static display entry from 10 to 12 am.

11 hours of flying and putting it on at the same weekend as Zeltweg? There must be an awful lot of acts around this year...

Not really, Melun is mainly a vintage/warbird show, Zeltweg is mostly modern mil.

Lens in the north is the same weekend so that's also a bit of the French scene occupied. They'll have their work cut out!

Me262 has never been officially part of the line-up as far as I know.
Just been "hashtagged" in an official tweet.

#Vulcan #space shuttle!!!!

Thanks. I'd not checked the list before so maybe time for it to be added but a great line up regardless.

Have they had the spotters area before and if so where are they located and what are they like? Very tempted by this over Zeltwig given the warbird lineup.

Actually, the Me262 is also featured in the official 2019 promotional video on the website. That may mean that they expect its participation. Finger crossed.

Last year, a Spotter area (can't say the size) was located just left of the "control tower", by the flight line. It was just a reserved zone. No grandstand.
Amazingly, unlike at la Ferté where the flight line is totally "booked" with chairs at 10 am, at Melun, on Sunday, it was totally deserted until 1 pm, when the show began. So the Spotter area looked like a cramped enclosure next to an empty kilometer of guardrails.
But things may not be as easy this year, due to the success of the first edition.

Saab J29 Tunnan no longer on the list  .

Wonder how much this is a wish-list / invitation list / confirmation list.
