Försvarsmaktens Flygdag, Ronneby Sweden

Post by Agg »

The annual Swedish Air Force show will this year be held at F 17 - Blekinge flygflottilj in Ronneby on the 25 of August. There's not a lot of foreign participants this year, but it still looks good, and we'll even get to see the new JAS-39E fly.

Have you been to Ronnenby before? How is it to shoot from the outside of the base - I'm thinking at Hasselstad?

No, I haven't, I'm looking over maps to see if there's a good place on the outside as we speak :P

It looks like there's a public road running along side the runway, I'm not sure where the perimeter fence is, but I guess you could park there and walk into one of the fields there. I'll have a chat with some of the Swedish photographers I know and see if they have some tips.

If they follow the same pattern as last time I was there, the small taxiway that connects the mil side to the civvy side is the crowd line, not the main runway. Helos and props operated quite close but fast jets much further out. Not sure what benefit you'd get from outside to be honest if they use the same layout - it was all a bit bizarre.
You caaan't trust the system... Maaan!

You're right, I forgot about the weird display lines in Sweden.
