Ferté-Alais is now targeting for 29 & 30 August : http://www.ajbs.fr/les-nouvelles-dates-du-meeting-2020/.
Another change is that it is associating the Aéro-Club de France (ACF).
The ACF previously organized its airshow at Le Bourget but, with too many constraints, it was decided this year to participate to La Ferté organization, with AJBS (Association Jean-Baptiste Salis).

Fingers crossed !

I hope this can go ahaed, but - I must admit - I have my doubts.
I was planning to go this year, as many years before. But I am not certain I will attend the show in August. I consider the risque to be too great at the moment. Of course things may still change.....
Furthermore I wonder if pilots and crews from other countries will come to France....

Just my thoughts

I think it's safe now to work on the assumption that nothing will happen this year - and then if it does, all the better. But I can't make any plans right now.

French PM is to make announcements today at 4:00 pm about French lockdown way forward.
This should deal with the re-opening (or not) of restaurants, theaters, sport events and the like.
So, we will know in the next days how it will affect airshows such as La Ferté or Melun (still planned on 12/13 september).
Stay tuned !

Gathering of more that 5,000 people is still forbiden in France and this may last until the end of the Summer.
Thus the Ferté decision to postpone to October.

If you wish, you can support the Ferté airshow by donating here : https://www.helloasso.com/associations/ ... lices-2020
  • 15,000 EUR will enable a full WWI display
  • 22,000 EUR will add 2 more aircraft
  • 30,000 EUR will permit a full display
If you pay taxes in France, you can substact 2/3 of you donation from your income tax.

I'm not sure I fancy wallowing around in the darkness in cold mud in mid-October. Sadly this one is a miss for me this year. Hopefully Melun will still go ahead 5 weeks earlier.

I think Melun will go ahead in September. I'm more concerned about whether we'll be able to travel to France and back by then, without quarantine restrictions etc.
