I suspect they'll be added to one of the weekend show days too, if Cosford doesn't go ahead with their planned September show.

You suspect wrong, I'm afraid.

We're looking to start ticket sales around mid-June. We'll communicate the setup of this year's show officially in the next few weeks prior to the start of ticket sales.

Unrealistic to expect KB to host ten jets and twenty personal for any longer than they are expected. ie arrive Friday morning, display Friday evening and depart Saturday morning. Even if Cosford were to be cancelled (and why do you think that will happen ?) Flying displays are planned months in advance, no way to "just slot in" a 30minute Red Arrows display

Further confirmation this morning that the show will this year follow a 3-day format with a full display now also on the Saturday. 7,500 visitors will be allowed in each day and tickets go on sale mid-June.

That should make demand for the Sunday less and also make the usual Saturday Tiger spotters day at nearby KB (assuming it goes ahead) more interesting with the display asset movements.

I'll be looking to buy a ticket for Friday and Sunday when they go on sale, although I'm still not entirely sure how the whole thing works!! Are we assigned to boxes on stages or is it some sort of grandstand seating??

It is a very large platform with some height difference (not nearly as high as a grandstand though) with pre-arranged chairs according to current plans. Stewards will assign you a seat and then ensure proper distancing to the next group.

Thanks Chrisse - that sounds good. Fingers crossed it won't be too difficult to travel from the UK.

It seems a pair of EC 2/30 Rafale's have been added as 'Vautour Bravo' team.

This is looking like a really special year

I'm so happy that Sanicole is putting on such a brilliant airshow... i'm also turning green at the thought of probably being forced to miss it!

Fingers crossed we'll get a couple of big international military shows in the UK next year.

I'm really getting excited about Sanicole this year, having missed out last year but tempered by not knowing what the travel situation from the UK will be. Fingers crossed for next month.

If you’re flying I’d be more concerned about mixing with people at London airport. You’d be safer coming over by car and maybe using the Shuttle. That way you’ll only have the Border Force to contend with.

BTW, don’t bring any meat or dairy products with you as they are banned by the EU for third countries, even sandwiches!

Good luck and I hope you make it.

I think we all hope travel from the UK will have normalized by that time. (or even well before then!) That is for politicians to sort out and agree on. Bear in mind that the EU is still working out the practicalities of the green certificate among themselves, so it's hard to reach an agreement with third parties before that time. The Belgian goal to have the green certificate operational is around 1 July, start of the school holidays here.

Something a little different, the first items for our static display, 2 beautiful biplanes and a military helicopter:
  • Stampe SV-4C from Wevelgem
  • Boeing Stearman
  • German Army NH-90

Some 'service announcements' and a new participant...

1. Ticket sales start for insiders on the mailing list on 15 June with reductions of up to 40%. The insiders will receive the full pricing on 14 June via email. That means for best prices, if you haven't registered on our website yet, it would be best to do so.

2. On the showground, the large platforms for seating are gone. The showground will still retain 5 zones. When you arrive in the morning, you go to one of the areas and you receive a coloured wristband, the colour representing the seating area you chose. We ask people stay within their chosen area as much as possible, though don’t expect tough strict ‘policing’ on this, we do realize you may run into a person you haven’t seen in a long time and prefer to change your position, just remain sensible. Each area will accommodate 1500 people maximum to allow proper social distancing, which even though no longer required by authorities at the time, we still intend to abide by. There will not be any through-traffic from other seating areas in the area where people sit as each zone is fenced off with fixed entry / exit point. That sort of movement is only allowed via the large walking boulevard behind the seating areas, which is also where you can find the tradestalls, access to the kids zone / Skywatch etc and how you can get to the static display. We feel this will offer everyone the best experience possible. Each area will also have their own sanitary installations and catering.

3. We have received confirmation the Finnish air force is sending its mighty F-18 solo display to us this year!

That sounds great! Will small ladders still be allowed? I like to use a little two step one where possible.

Like before, that will be a matter of being reasonable and making sure you get along with the people around you.
