Even worse, they didn't come back into Newcastle either. They appeared to the North as a 4 ship, for a possible run in and break, but that was the last we saw of them. General consensus was they headed to Carlisle, as all the commercial flights diverted earlier by the Strikemaster blow out, all started to arrive or depart around that time.

They landed at Church Fenton.

Is this another Airshow - East Fortune being the other - that the Weather Gods seem not to like?

Displays were a bit distant from the crowd yesterday - apart from the Swiss Air Force PC7 team that flew really close but was an adapted flat display I'm told.

However there was no PA system along the actual beach area so we had no commentary for the whole day - the speakers were higher up on the road itself.

best place to view the display is seaburn beach itself with the 'main area' and stage to the right of the display axis it seems

Sunderland can be a challenging venue for fast jets and less agile types as it is in a bay which for the most part is occupied. That means their 230m is displaced slightly to accommodate the topography. The slower and more agile aircraft such as the PC-7 can often 'use the bay' more so they do appear closer but keeping the appropriate separation.
