At the moment nothing really does mean nothing. There is currently nothing on TV I find worth watching.

But you've decided that from someone else's opinion. Isn't it better to try for yourself? You never know, you might unearth your new favourite show. :s

Me? I've not used anybodies opinion other than my own. If the blurb on the EPG doesn't grab me I won't watch. Nobodies opinion but mine.

Final series of 'Hell On Wheels'.
Shame it's ended, but at least it went out on a high ( and still rumours of a possible sequel )
Producers must have tried to see how many Western clichés they could fit in......
Baddies get their come-uppance ? Check ( and if you thought the hanging scene in 'Black Sails' was gratuitous, it's got nothing on the one in 'HOW' )
Archetypal drunken saloon brawl ? Check.
Hero involved in a shoot-out ? Check.

Like some other series which were cut short, there are a lot of loose ends in the final episode ( deliberately so in this case ) which may annoy some people.

After watching Ken Burns excellent documentary about the American Civil War last year, I noticed Netflix had his history of Prohibition available. What a fascinating story. A story of how a misguided government policy can have so many unintended consequences. I then watched his series called "The War2", a history of the involvement of four typical US towns in WW2, another fascinating, moving and, at times, brutal series. I know it tells the story of WW2 from an American point of view so it starts in 1941 rather than 1939 but that doesn't lessen its impact. Both series are well worth watching.

3 Girls - further proof that the BBC very very much still has 'it'. Stunning, harrowing, moving, depressing and uplifting all at once.

Once again I wholeheartedly concur, very well acted throughout including the incredibly difficult yet convincing part of the girls/young women. I'm glad that the issue has had its profile raised, and I hear that a petition has taken off to have the primary safe-sex worker recognised and rewarded for her efforts that have since been overlooked

American Gods on Amazon and the third season of Better Call Saul. Both absolutely magnificent, as once again the streaming services blow traditional TV out of the water.

American Gods is incredibly good, and worthy of all the hype, while the pace of BCS has picked up noticeably with lots of Breaking Bad characters and situations beginning to emerge.

A real golden age of dramas.

'A Time to Live' on the iPlayer. Watch that and then try to complain about display axes at Cosford.

Beautifully made documentary from 'our' good old BBC.

Again.

Not the TV I know but The Horne Section on Radio 4 last night had me literally crying with laughter. Genius, especially the last song.

Both series of 'Rome'.....again

I've already got that on series record! One of the best things around at the minute.

Just finished watching all 6 seasons of "Justified". Quite a few binge sessions to get through it, and always wanting to see the next episode when I eventually did stop a session. Really enjoyed it and will probably watch it again some time in the future.

Just started "Fortitude" season 2, and wished I'd watched season 1 again beforehand, as I've lost the plot a bit, but still a very good watch.
"Nice pics mate" comments only! No criticism please.

Series 5 of 'Ripper Street' started on BBC2 this week.
Along with 'Versailles' & 'Dr Who' that's my iPlayer viewing sorted for this Saturday/Sunday night ( now that they appear to have run out of Lucy Worsley series to show  )

Guess I'll have to go back to watching DVDs when they introduce their stupid - and extremely unpopular - plan to force people to register if they want to watch iPlayer stuff.

Just about to start Game of Thrones season 5 (late starter) but also Arrow, Flash & Legends of Tomorrow when they are on as well as Big Bang theory.

Air Crash Investigation, My haunted house & My ghost stories also have a daily SkyHD reminder set when they are about to air.

Need something new to watch soon though.

What problem do people have with having to register to access the iPlayer stuff? :dizzy:

A lot of the reservations were covered on Radio 4's 'Feedback' the week before last.
With many it's simply the fact that you have to register at all, when it's managed perfectly well without requiring them to do so since it's inception.
Others view it as a form of tracking & they see it as being "spied on by the BBC".
Others don't like the fact that it'll be used to determine viewing recommendations.
It's the usual problem.....they're introducing it without explaining it to the users.

I'm not sure I see an issue with having to sign in either. You sign to Netflix, Amazon, Sky etc. Why is it a problem with the BBC?

Anyway, recent viewing.

Designated Survivor was pretty decent.

Outcast on Fox wasn't as good as the first series but still OK.

We also enjoyed The Catch

Good news though, The Leftovers is coming back sadly for a final season.

Glow has started well on Netflix, which is about women's wrestling. It's a lot better than it sounds!

The Keepers documentary on Netflix is extremely well-made, but given it deals with sexual abuse in the Catholic church, it's not exactly light viewing before bedtime.

"Broken" on BBC with Sean Bean was excellent, as is "The Handmaid's Tale".

Game of Thrones back Monday but only seven parts in the season. :dunno:

yes they are doing a mini season seven now and then another mini season (7a or 8) next year apparently to finish it off.

I think this is quite common with American shows, I seem to remember they did the same with the Sopranos.

It was on a few months ago but we have just finished watching the last season of Billions off the planner which I think is really good and a 3rd season on the way. It's one of those shows that you enjoy watching but you can't really get behind and like any of the main characters because they are all flawed in some way. Ray Donovan is another one like that full of anti -heroes but still worth watching and entertaining.

Something else which can be attributed to the Soprano's legacy.
