In a similar vein. Car designers who design a car's indicators so they are surrounded by the daylight running lights but the those lights aren't deactivated when the indicator is used. Nissan I'm looking at you! Tiny orange indicator surrounded by a big bright mass of daylight running lights.

DRLs, if they're LED, should (must?) deactivate for the period the indicator is on...

Except a lot of them don't - same as a lot of them don't dim when the normal lights come on.
Not sure is it's down to the owners messing with the settings ( not likely, given how many are like that ) or because the dealers didn't bother setting them up when they did the PDI.

Oh, and to add to the list, the crap rear indicators on a number of modern cars which are so poor that you can't see them if the brake-lights are on.

Morons like those on the M25 anti-clockwise around junction 24-25 last night who brought the motorway to a standstill by slowing down to gawp at an incident on the other carriageway.....

People say "but it's just yooman nature ain t it?" Sorry, that argument doesn't wash with me. If one is in control of over a ton of metal and plastics travelling at over 60 mph one should not succumb to such base instincts.

wasn't sure whether to post this in the angry thread or happy thread.

I'm angry that they though to do it but happy at the way it turned out!

I was in London yesterday with my wife to visit the Churchill War Rooms etc. Lots of Extinction Rebellion types around making a lot of noise, and getting in the way a bit, but apart from that more or less behaving themselves. Also lots of police about of course, so perhaps that's why they were behaving, although I hear that they've been a bit of a pain at City Airport today. Incidentally, one of the policemen that we spoke to told us that he'd been seconded from Eastbourne for the day.

Plod have been dragged in from a lot of other areas to deal with the hypocritical scum ( and at least Emma Thompson has had the decency to admit she's a hypocrite )
No doubt St Bono and co have their private jets on standby to take them to whichever protest(s) they feel will give them the most publicity.
And presumably St Greta is currently cycling around America ( and staying in non-air-conditioned accommodation powered by wind/solar energy ) for her tour

XR protesters again!
Yet another disruptive bike-ride protest in Cardiff yesterday, cycling at walking-pace or slower.
And what did it achieve?
Increased pollution because of the queues of traffic ( because Plod were aiding and abetting them by preventing vehicles overtaking them  ) and severe disruption to public transport.

That happens up here in Edinburgh for any motorist who obeys the 20mph speed limit imposed across most of the City by the Council. The one that cost £3 million to implement, but has been reported as slowing traffic by 1.3mph.

Fly tippers  drove past Biggin Hill Airport on Sunday ,some low life had dumped a mattress on the pavement at the end of runway 03,isn't it just as easy to take it to the local Council dump ? what is the matter with some people ? couldn't have created a very good impression for folk visiting the Museum !

Travellers maybe? Do a cheap house clearance/garden job, but cannot offload it at the local tip without a licence, so dump it by the road instead.

You occasionally see old caravans filled with rubbish aswell, dumped in lay-bys next to the A127 near the travellers sites.

There are multiple examples of this happening. Hate to say this as I have Irish heritage, but more often then not it seems to be Irish travellers involved.

Hong Kong Government & Police.......

.....because they've only shot 3 rioters ( you could even be justified in calling them terrorists ) so far.

A proper hardline response should have been instigated weeks ago.

I visited the Tutankhamun exhibition in London yesterday which was stunning, the only 'fly in the ointment' being the numerous people taking photos of the artefacts with their phones, very irritating when trying to look at 'wonderful things' to have someones hand and phone a few inches from my ear. I did mention it to one particular woman who replied in a haughty manner 'they only said no flash photography' and carried on as before.

Yep, really.
Peaceful protest is one thing, but what's happening in Hong Kong has degenerated so far below acceptable social norms and can easily be described as anarchy.

Well the protests were made illegal with threat of force - the option was to give up, or riot.

Brevet, for the avoidance of doubt are you suggesting that at no point in this protest have the police done anything wrong or indeed done anything "below social norms", thus making the police response throughout the protests acceptable?
