It was lining up a very much similar line up to the last full show, but with Navy Wings showing the Swordfish attending I am now looking forward to it.

It's my birthday and I'm sure my son will want to go and take photos but no afterburner is a no for me. I only went last year due to the fact there were 2 f15 flypast. Let's hope its a nice day for those who attend

Just seen this tweet from Clacton Airshow saying:

"We hear there is some exciting news to come from our friends over at @ClactonGazette, give them a follow, You wont want to miss it!"

Could this be an interesting flight announcement?

Final list now above with Bronco and Autogyro confirmed.

Should get RV's, Tigers drop aircraft, Pitts, Autogyro and Bronco on the ground at the airfield too.

Not terrific but it's only a quick 10 minute walk to the seafront and the display axis.

Yeah, not great. I will likely head towards Martello end of the display line. Then head to the airfield before then end of the displays on Friday to catch departures.

Dan, I usually park in the st Christopher way car park in jaywick, walk into the sea wall and towards clacton as far as the Martello tower in front of the golf club (11th and 15th tees) then go out on the beachwear it curves round to the breakwater. It's about A10 - 15 minute walk. You're at one end of the display line and sunny side for the cross axis, because the beach faces south east it's a bit into sun but I've been to worse
Andy

The car park is free btw

Shame the Typhoon is not booked, especially as its due at Wattisham on the Thursday.

Swordfish also a doubt after not flying as yet.

Yes its weird that there's no Typhoon. Would have improved the show quite a bit.

Is It Meant To Be Displaying Or Just A Stopover? I Live Right Next To Wattisham Airfield.

Thanks. I was more interested in getting the Bronco at the airfield tbh, the flying display won’t be much use with a 300mm lens.

There is normally a temporary car park next to the airfield Dan, used to cost a fiver. A 300m lens should just about be enough on the beach as well

Dan, this was my album from the 2015 show using my 100-400 lens, many were only around 200mm focal length on a cropped sensor. Exit details of each photo are given on them. Cropped to suit but will give you a good idea

And this was 2014, 2 Lancs and a Vulcan, those were the days!

Just seen the weather for tomorrow. It Isn't looking good. Looks like mostly rain and thunderstorms for the whole day except the night displays.
The weather is a lot better on the Friday tho.

The bulk of the rain looks to have gone by about mid day - Cloudbase 14-18k ft, So I dont see it negatively impacting many, if any of the displays.

Looking at the weather, the rain has shifted west a little so should not be too bad.

Swordfish replaced with Seafire

Participating aircraft need to be able to get there from North Weald/Duxford/Norwich.

Not too bad in the end, with only Tigers, MiG and Spitfire unable to make it. Having a bunch of them at Clacton Airfield saved the day.
