I read an account of a birding visit to Churchill in which the bloke said after he had birded some nearby woods, he returned to his car and then an adult male Polar Bear walked out of the woods he'd been in - it shook him to his core - in fact I think he may have had to look for somewhere more secure to meet an urgent need!

What is more worrying is the letter signed by 10 former US Secretaries of Defense warning against military intervention. I presume this is a warning to Trump not to use his powers as Commander in Chief to organise a military coup.

Some of Trump's supporters certainly need the mic taken away from them. This was a Pro-Trump speaker at a DC rally yesterday urging Trump supporters to seek out and hug strangers near to them.

The speaker, later identified as podcast host Clay Clark, told event attendees that COVID-19 was a hoax and then invited them hug each other at the event in Freedom Plaza.

“Turn to the person next to you and give them a hug, someone you don’t know,” Clark said. “Go hug somebody. Go ahead and spread it out, mass spreader. It’s a mass-spreader event! It’s a mass-spreader event! It’s a mass-spreader event!”

Clark also made a point to say he was open to hugs despite being in a committed relationship.

“There you go. Hug it out!” he added. “I’m married but if you want to give me a hug too, you can do that.”

You of all people know he's entitled to due process. And that is another of the strengths of the USA, whatever we think of the Byzantine coils of US Law: I want to see him tried and imprisoned and preferably never let out, but I want it to be visibly as a result of a fair trial.
