According to Nottinghamshire Live, the chief constable of Nottinghamshire police, Craig Guildford, has said that if his force finds people travelling from Leicester into his county to avoid the lockdown, particularly in coaches or minibuses, they will be turned back.

This will probably be where local lockdowns won't work and could actually make things worse

Also the daily deaths curve for the UK appears to be flattening which is worrying

Up to 90% of new cases not being published by government.

I would hope so; 800-1000 new cases a day of which 100-200 are dying would be very worrying indeed,

Not including those who have had the virus and had no test or symptoms (if the antibody results are anything to go by)

That is not the estimate of how many have it who are not being tested.
The government are only releasing the new cases found in hospitals, and not publishing the one's tested privately in the community at test centers for example.

I.e. Deliberately hiding the facts.

That is not what the article that you have linked in your previous post says at all. You need to re-read it

This isn’t an accurate ratio. Typically the recorded deaths are those who contracted the disease weeks before

Take half an hour to listen to Radio 4s More or Less programme (broadcast this morning).
The series has been looking at Covid stats for the last 14 weeks and the one today is using hindsight to explain decisions, looking at what has and hasn't worked and compares national reporting.
it's a very balanced programme and well worth your time.

Fairly sensationalist reporting from the Daily Fail as usual. Wiltshire 300% increase! err like it's gone from 1 to 4

A quite incredible moment from Drakeford. Extraordinary in its frankness. I think tensions between the more cautious devolved administrations and England are beginning to boil over.

Still... anyone going to the pub?

As much as I love my local pub - and I adore it - nope, not likely. Its going to be chaos. :confounded:
its time to kick the tyres and light the fires

Cos that's going to encourage sensible behaviour

Setting my alarm for 5.30am which will be a total waste of sleep as my local opens at noon.
Seriously, a local group of us (all in the village) meet up for a once a month afternoon beer. The next meeting should be on Wednesday so I am going down to suss out if it’s ok to go or if we need to have the meeting in my garden as Zoom has been ok but...... .

Both queuing and going to the pub!

I'm staying well away for now.

Mostly that's because I haven't got any friends, but I'm pretending it's because of the virus...

Got to keep you Young ones fit and healthy so the brats can go go back to school so the hoi polloi go back to work so they can earn the taxes to pay my pension which lets me go to the pub to raise the taxes which pays your salary.

Here's a "dwad" for you.

Nigel Farage

Posted on Twitter today that he was the first person in his pub.

On 20th June he was in the US and returned on the 21st. Taking the 21st as Day 1.... the last day of his mandatory - by law - 14 day quarantine is today. So he can go out tomorrow.

He has broken the law leaving his home a day early which he is defending saying he got tested - which means diddly squat under the regulations. He also claims he has completed his 14 day quarantine, which he blatantly hasn't - he was photographed in the US on the 20th both in the day and at night!

He has been reported to the Police I hope they make an example of him.
