They put on a very good display.

I am going to miss both Duxford's main shows this year but I am very tempted on this alone.

What a coup this would be if they pull it off!

Glad I have my tickets already.

Wonder if the Cat will still fly after it's little problem yesterday...

Duxford seem very thin on RAF assets for this year's shows. No Reds, no Typhoon, no Chinook. Still, at least the Tutor will be at the June airshow! :-)

it does seem to be a slim year so far. the june show is doing nothing for me at the moment
i suspect more home based planes will fly as part of the shows, but i wonder if they are waiting for the "early bird tickets" to end before making any big announcements?

Why would they do that? The point of early bird tickets is to entice people to commit early thus ensuring the event will be profitable before they commit to big expenses. If they would rather people paid full price they wouldn't offer early bird prices in the first place.

The show just seems a bit flat there’s nice items but not enough to justify the cost and travel at the moment so looks like I may just do the Battle of Britain show this season unless some big announcements are made. I doubt they will as duxford have basically recycled last years line up so far

I disagree about the recycle from last year. There are 9 displays confirmed that were not part of the Summer show last year.

Autogyro
Vampires
Mig 15
Stichting Fokker Four
RAF Grob Tutor
Black Cats Helicopter Display Team
Rich Goodwin
BBMF Lancaster
RAF Falcons.

With an NH90 self confirm.

I do agree the line-up is a bit tame and I won't be going this year either. I've chosen Cosford the week before and will be going to Duxfords 8th & 9th October shows instead.

I remember in 2020, when they had the Belgian F16, Czech Gripen and Swiss Hornet (IIRC) booked in! Such a shame, but understandable given the circumstances at the time!

Don’t get me wrong the aircraft going are nice but I’m seeing a lot of them at shows in the weeks before and the price is much less. Duxfords my favourite venue and I just think that for me personally there is too many display teams for my liking

not sure about recycling, but at the prices they are now at duxford the lineup doesn't pull me in. ill be skipping it unless something big comes to the show

Listed as Air Leasing so almost certainly MV293, regardless of the random photo of RN201 posted on the IWM site. Sorry to disappoint.

First time this Sunday at Duxford for a flying day. What’s the setup of the day..
Is there any ground activities or traders?
Do they do the tank demos in the day?
Is the the flying display usually accurate to what’s on the website?

Sorry for the questions but also my 2yr olds first time at a display and very worth it as a member with free entry.

The Flying Days are perfect for small kids. I take my 4 year old regularly. There is normally some kids activities (build an aircraft, face painting etc), most of the airliners are normally open - which is my kid’s favourite - tank rides, some static aircraft you can get up close to etc. The flying list is normally fairly accurate - sometimes there are a few substitutions or additions. The length of the flying display is perfect for the attention span of my kid!
2024 shows: Abingdon, Cosford, Sywell, RIAT, Zeltweg with a couple of Duxford and Shutteworth shows thrown into the mix.

It is, which is one reason why I am going to Old Warden. At least there one is only a few metres from the shelter of the car if the weather does strike....
nothing is confirmed at a show until its u/c hits the tarmac or it is running in for its display.....
