Now that the Romanian Mig 21’s have been re-activated I wonder what the chances are of one attending RIAT, even if on static display, would be the last chance.
Anyone out there ever wished for an AN12?I know I have
they used to be fun when they attended. Last one 26 years ago now. Would have to be a civvy these days I guess, realistically. An12BP 2209 32 ZmDK Slovak Air Force by Paul Downes, on Flickr
I don't know if this has been suggested already. But I really really hope a special flypast (missing man) can be arranged to pay tribue to Colonel Oleksandr Oksanchenko. I don't know what aircraft this would involve though? Perhaps a selection of Nato aircraft? Maybe it doesn't even have to be a flypast but some sort of way of remembering him.
2017 sticks out as one of the most iconic moments of recent RIAT years for me. It's not that often at airshows you remember a pilot's name, but he stood out even before his passing.
Speaking of heavies in the other thread, it’s be lovely to see RAF Brize Norton mark the occasion with flying from C-130(s). A repeat of the Jubilee flypast with three, or whatever.
As things stand, it’s their last 9 months before retirement next March, so they won’t get another chance.
All too often the RAF/MoD have done too-little-too-late with retiring types, and done commemorative flypasts or unveiled painted special schemes (or both) on rainy Tuesdays in February where hardly anyone gets to see them or properly say goodbye.

Shows I'm Attending in 2020:
Well Um..
Didn't know this was a thing! (Thought it just meant static F-16's from a specific squadron) Would love to see this.
Yeah, they only ever appear at Sanicole - as it's 4x 31 Squadron F-16AMs from down the road at Kleine-Brogel.
Here's a wishlisty item from left-field, I think the show could do with 1 more FJ display this year...what about the JF-17 Thunder demo from Pakistan? Not confirmed anything yet, they have been attending for the last few shows, it's a Farnborough year so they could take it there too (been before..) Probably pie in the sky, but I'd love to see that special scheme jet if they still have it painted up all green!

They show up at the tigermeets as well, entertained us at Landivisiau for example. There used to be regular Belgian fourships at the shows with several passes and breaks back in the days. I remember Bierset in 1993 had F-16, Mirage 5 and Alpha Jet fourships.
