A couple of years ago I happened to be passing Stonehenge at sunrise on the way to Yeovilton and it was quite an awesome sight.
Decided this year to actually be there overnight as the forecast was clear and humid, and I ended up taking shots for most of the night (most didn't quite work!) and after 45mins sleep I got up again for sunrise. Glad I did, it was a truly stunning sight.
It's amazing how there are fleeting moments, and I think zigzag Andy (who turned up just in time) and I managed to catch one that morning. Haven't bothered editing any Yeovilton pix yet, but just had a go playing with the Stonehenge pic with the most mystery about it and thought I'd share...

Where did you take the shot from?
I tried the same thing on the way to RIAT this year. I got there at 5am, 10 mins before sunrise and had security chase me off the site. I wonder what stone age man would have made of that. Come to think of it, he's now the secuity guard. I ended up taking a shot on the verge of the A303 with lorries passing 1m behind me at 60mph. It's amazing how many there are at 5am on a Friday morning. I got my shot so another tick in the box but it's not as atmospheric as yours.

Very nice Phil! Looks like all the effort was worth it. I'm afraid I needed all the sleep I could get following the blxxdy awful journey down!! Needed to retain a little energy for most of the following week too....
