We went to India in October on holiday, flying into Mumbai.

And then it was on to Amritsar, home of the Golden Temple, one of the most stunning sights I have ever seen.

That afternoon, we went to the Wagah border to see the daily ceremonial lowering of the flags, an almost surreal event!

Next we moved on to Shimla which was the summer home for the British civil service escaping from the summer heat in Delhi.

After about 10 days of touring, we had a week cruising the Brahmaputra river in Assam. We saw some great sunsets
