Wildlife on the Isle of Mull

Post by Peter345 »

At the end of October we spent a week on our favourite Scottish island, the Isle of Mull. It was wet and windy almost every day but luckily the weather cleared on the last day to allow us to get out on a boat to see the white-tailed sea eagles...

That reminds me, I must order a new door!

Fabulous eagle images Peter, I must get back up there when everywhere opens again.Every one is a peach, the wet Otters sum up the wet and wild scenery of Mull as well.

great post.

Super pics, thanks for sharing. Got our best ever view of otters this summer while on a golfing break with my son - just opposite Arran near Carradale (great little course btw).

Do the boats toss out fish to attract the Sea Eagles?

A superb set! The Highland Cow looks very much like I did during the extended lockdown here in Melbourne when we were not permitted to get a haircut.
Cheers,

Many thanks all.

Andy, mostly around 1000th to 1600th. They move surprisingly fast when going for a fish!

Slinger, yes, a fish is thrown out when an eagle appears.

Fantastic stuff, love Mull, a beautiful place. Where did you catch the Otters? Me and Mrs M had a wonderful 20 minutes at Croggan with one and another siting by the Golf Course at Craignure. Have to get back up there again next year......

Superb images, echoing what others have said.

It's a great place for wildlife, although once saw a dead cow being dragged across a field by a tractor on Mull.

Thanks chaps. Pat, the sprainting otter was near Croggan and the others were on the north shore of Loch Scridain. All were taken out of the car window.
