I don't know for F-35, but there is at least 1 Greek Mirage 2000 that was able to fly again after a short stay on the bottom of the Mediterranean:
HAF MIRAGE 2000 EG 210, a phoenix back into the air
In 1997, HAF Mirage 2000 EG 210 overran the runway at Skiros Air Base and ditched into the sea. The Hellenic Air Force (HAF), Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI) and Dassault Aviation have successfully rebuilt it. It is now flying again and is back to service into the HAF.
Approached very low and fell into the sea. Pilot Dimítrios Stratakías ejected but was trapped by the windshield. The plane was recovered after three days in salt water, dimanteled and rebuilt in France. Re-flown MAR 2003.

Maybe the RAF RIAT F-35B display airframe next season then?? ;)
Now officially qualifies as a 'regular' at Famous Dave's - El Centro

It probably wasn't trampled on by 64,000 tons of aircraft carrier!

That looks a lot less damaged than I was expecting, though admittedly we can't see the front fuselage.........

I'd pop it in a bag of rice and leave it on the radiator overnight.

"mishap". I tend to think of these as spilling a cup of tea. Not losing a $100 million aircraft.

Seeing a photo on the Twitter. It appears to have an intact windshield. I thought all F-35s had a one-piece canopy? Anyone know differently?

Presumably the MDC breaks leaving the front part in place to deflect airflow when ejecting at speed?

Maybe they should be fitted with airbags to keep them afloat if it's so critical to find and get them back!

Anybody else think the image of F-35 looks "photoshopped"
Surely an aircraft would not float after coming off the deck ?

Speaking of it in general terms, there’s an interesting article about how rough the F-35Cs are looking after their deployment:

Interestingly the Bs on Queen Liz didn’t seem to have the same problem?

As a wild guess , do American carriers carry so many aircraft that they have to keep them on deck most , if not all, ofthe time - whereas HMS QE could easily accommodate all the F35B it sailed with inside in the hangar deck and only line them up on top when a photo opportunity or a “show off” was needed on visits.
