Is it a case that they don`t officially mark the 75th Anniversary in the US ... and don`t want to do it over here.
None of the US shows seem to be marking the 75th anniversary including the big ones at Nellis and Edwards. They haven't painted any special schemes on aircraft which the US typically does to mark anniversaries. They may be making efforts to NOT mark the anniversary at RIAT due to the lack of significance in their homeland?
I don’t know about the US shows per se, but haven’t they been marking up loads of aircraft in special heritage schemes to celebrate their birthday for a while now? Indeed, isn’t the A-10 itself in a special heritage scheme?

Perhaps I’m wrong, but I thought that was the driving force behind all the units special schemes?

Almost forgot Thurs is a bank holiday, reckon we'll get an update still or they'll push it till next week?

At a unit level, yes the schemes are out there including a few new ones this year, but think USN 100th. I'm not aware of anything the USAF has done to mark the 75th that I've seen reported.

They are celebrating it for sure.
Reassuring to see. Found a reference on the USAF museum website but have struggled to see anything in airshow promotional material.

Maybe you’re right, I’m not sure. But that’s what I thought the situation was.

All a bit moot in any event as things stand!

Indeed. That you have to go hunting for references suggests they aren't making a big song and dance about it. In the context of RIAT, local static's so far with a month to go for a flying announcement. A 'local' U2 flying would be consistent with typical US airshow participation. That would still be a star participant in my eyes.

To be honest, with what else is currently on the flying display list, the usual role demo from a Mildenhall Osprey & maybe a flypast from a KC-135 trailing maybe 2 Strike Eagles & 2 F-35s from LN would be fine by me

I'm more hoping the USAF can bulk out the static with some heavies (B-52H, B-1B, C-17, C130J from RS, please a C-5 as it's been 10 years!, KC-46,) & maybe some stuff that's been deployed to Europe...

Probably more for the wishlist section but would love to see C5 flying display. Will never happen but even a flypast would be great.

I think that's probably best in the "Things that'll never happen for 100 points please, Alex" thread.

Guess it could be a combination of things, it could just simply be that with large public events getting started again 'post pandemic' in the US too - the US demo teams/Air Force Command want to display to the US public as much as they can this year, rather than send aircraft/pilots/ground team etc over here... 🤔

I have a question for anyone who might know, with this Thursday being a Bank Holiday will the update this week still be on that day, or moved? Can't recall many Thursday Bank Holidays in the past so not sure if DBH would even be working that day... 🤷‍♂️
if only Reagan was still the number one...

With a ? for Friday. There's a typo somewhere, on one of the schedules at least!

wasn't that the case in 2019 as well? it was supposed to display friday but didn't due to the weather, then performed early on saturday before leaving after the NATO flypast?

I’d say we’re likely to get whatever DBH have managed to get confirmed in the last week? who know if the RAF are playing ball or not? From some of the rumours I’ve heard recently, still lots to be announced……
