This will probably be the best Spitfire simulation available.

Looking forward to the Spit, even though I'm more exited about the Viggen at this point. I really hope they get the sound right :)

I'm excited for both! And VEAO released screenshots of their Mark XIV too, which looks decent.

I really don't know about the VEAO Spitfire - the model is probably the best we've seen from them, but after the whole Hawk debacle I have zero faith in them as a developer.

They've made huge strides on the Hawk though. It has multi-seat capability now (to a lesser degree online but they're working on that still) and the flight model is really good.

Then again I shot Andy's elevators off in it the other day and it carried on flying around, so...

Just pre-purchased it, now we play the waiting game - although first, let's see what Leatherneck has for us on the 28th :)

I feel that their aim is to release it this year, but I think the 28th is just a live stream of the release date announcement. It's a Monday so it wouldn't be released until the end of the week anyway (patches always on Fridays)

Yup, I also think it's just a stream, but hopefully with some info on when it's going to be released :)

It's a lot of fun, even though I can't land the damn thing - take offs are fairly straight forward, but every time I land one of the wings (usually the left one) dips and I end up in the field next to the runway... Need a lot more practice I guess ;)

You're landing too fast.

Honestly, that's the cause of every bad landing I see. You have to land at about 75mph. I couldn't touch the damn thing down, even with rudder pedals, without going off and ground looping, but once I twigged that the landing speed is *so* slow, it's become a doddle.

I was finding taking off the hardest but as soon as I was told to give it full right aileron and stick back to counter the torque, I found it much easier.

You might be on to something Sam, I think I might be flaring too high, will have to test some more when I get home :)
