Cause thats whats the wish list is for!

I was just pointing out that 'firsts' dont in themselves make a good airshow - simple. But people though I was moaning about the lack of fast jets - but if you read the posts I wasn't!
But if you'd just given an example of what would make a good airshow maybe it wouldn't have got people's backs up and dragged the thread off course?

Any show is better than no show after a two year absence. Personally I am only looking forward to the hungarian MI-24 ( I find the Czech demo a bit lacklustre ) and the Spanish Hornet. I am looking forward to more static aircraft being announced as that's what I'll be focusing on👍

Planes TV have this afternoon announced that they will be live streaming the arrivals days and part of the departures day at RIAT for free.

The show days will also be live streamed and available through their subscription service which costs £10 a month.

This includes access to their entire 40-year back catalogue of footage and is really good value when you consider that a single days live stream of RIAT used to cost the same!

Excellent, but I much prefer yours/Tommys/other staffs arrivals threads (the anticipation of the next picture is fab) 👌

Was just thinking about this. It’s an absolute crap
-load of effort for something that others are doing more professionally and for free.

The whole reason it started (and was successful) was precisely because it was free and no one else was really doing it (not live, anyway).

Ah, off-topic then Bobby; this is the RIAT 2022 discussion....

In stature, grace and hue,
In shadowy silent distance grew the iceberg too....

Last week, members of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team visited Douglas Bader House to discuss their plans for RIAT 22, and we discussed our ambition for special mixed formation flypasts on all three show days. However, we await the formal ratification from the RAF Air Events Team before we add them to the aircraft participation list.
Not official but we can assume there will be some sort of flypast with the reds

I think they were just checking to see if the aftershow party had a free bar.

On the subject of checking I found the ACC support manual quite interesting - just goes to show what is expected and how much needs to be considered. While I am not sure every 'act' goes into such detail it is behind the scene work the average attendee as no idea about.

Its page 92 if you dont want to trawl through this but I don`t get the joke or reference to DOH here.

2. The show must have a place to store the flares in case they need to be downloaded
(hanger in inclement weather).

The use of "hanger" I'm going to guess at.

Does anyone know if there are due to be any differences between the Saturday and the Sunday (display wise)? Really not sure which day to attend.

Sunday is usually a reverse order of the Saturday show. There have been special flypasts on specific days sometimes not announced until the day (B2 for example) - the best one will be on the day you don't go... If you click on the aircraft in the RIAT confirmed listing it will show what days they are expecting to fly.

Will never forget the excitement in the air when looking at the movements sheet on the Sunday of RIAT 2017! I’d love it if DBH could hold some stuff back (Not sure if that’s good for marketing mind).

Blades for RIAT (other 2Excel Aviation kit has already been announced) on the Friday (at least):

“Sywell Aerodrome is the home of 2Excel, and the base of The Blades, the world’s only aerobatic airline, and whose pilots are all former Red Arrows. The team made its debut appearance at RIAT 2019 and will be flying in on the show’s opening day, Friday 15th July.”

Credit to Flightline for spotting it.

I note the term ‘flying in’ as opposed to displaying.

Perhaps indicating they’re only planning to join previously announced 2Excel aircraft at the show.
