Help for a friend at RIAT 2022 Arrival Days 13/14 July

Post by D90Man »

Hi Everyone

I am putting this request on here on behalf of my good friend Junji Sato from Japan. He is coming to RIAT this year and as normal he is getting to the show by shuttle bus from Swindon Station.

However the shuttle bus is not running on the arrival days (13/14 July) and while he is quite happy to take a taxi from Swindon Station to the base, getting back to the station at the end of the day is slightly more problematic.

Is there anyone here who might be able to help Junji out by giving him a lift back to Swindon at the end of the day on the 13th and 14th? Or can anyone suggest an alternative solution.

Many thanks

Just out of interest, where is he staying overnight on each of the days & can he speak some English, as most of these guys can? My experience of the Japanese aviation enthusiast is one of great friendly help/advice & a reciprocal gesture should be possible for anybody, especially those who have visited the Japan area.
This information may help formulate a better response from those who may be staying nearby his overnight location or in the same place? HTH.

Hi Stagger - yes he does speak English reasonably well. He has helped me greatly in the past on my trips to Hyakuri and other bases near Tokyo. You may know of him - his name is Junji Sato.

I'll ask where he is staying.

Thanks

Hi again everyone.

Junji-san will be staying in an apartment in Swindon, very near the station, so if anyone is travelling back by car on 13/14 July and could give him a ride, that would be great.

Thanks in advance
