Airfix 1/48 Tiger Moth

Post by DerekF »

The newish Airfix Tiger Moth in 1/48 scale. Another nice little kit with no real problems in build. Built and finished out of the box. As always self-inflicted build issues around the top wing which I left off unitl near the end, after applying decals and partial rigging. Matching the red was a challenge as the red I used was slightly different to the kit decals, which I have to say were excellent.

Looks great, I am trying to finish off the Canberra PR9 for which I have spent so much money on after market bits that are so small I might give up fitting most but have paused finishing until I can work up the enthusiasm again. I have started this model of the Tiger Moth myself, I have added some after market bits like the Baggage compartment/luggage, fuel tank and engine top cowl and open cockpit doors, but again other things have got in the way and it is sat on the shelf for now, though I hope mine looks as good as yours when finished, the only model from the past year or so that is going to be straight out of the box is the Harrier GR3 of 4 Sqd RAF Gutersloh.
