Have been a Kittyhawk fan for an age, always wanted one of these Banana Hobby
two metre beasts. Thought such a model would be beyond my reach, then when
you least expect It an okay second hand one came up for sale on RC Trader.

May be able to see have added a chunk of foam to the rear underside of the
fuselage she comes as a short tail E model, I want to do a later M model.
Also not a fan of sharks mouth P40s so this one will get a re scheme?

Been slapping some paint on my Empire boat, “Awarua” flew across the Tasman
Sea from New Zealand to Australia during WW II, for a brief period she was trialed
with a gun turret.
Image

All the markings are hand painted, flew her pre paint and she just managed to
climb out and was slow before paint, heavier now, have a weight loss plan in
place, fingers crossed.
Image

Where she came from, used an ultra micro B17 tail plane and wing, fuselage
scratch built.

Had the pleasure and privilege of viewing John Smith’s Mosi at Omaka in
New Zealand earlier this year. We are indebted to the Smith family for
their generousity and the hard working crew at Omaka for the stunning
job they have done on her. Decided to do my little (span ) RC Mosi in the
markings she would have worn when John purchased her. Hopefully some
flying shots soon.

The other John Smith machine getting some stunning attention in the North
Island of New Zealand, my RC Mustang take on “NZ 2423,” the decals open
both models from, Old Model Decals worked well for me. I use Micro Sol and
Micro Set, great product for applying and setting decals even on foam.

Nice stuff. I tried flying an RC plane once. my brain isn't geared to understand how my thumbs should move :) and we had what was jovially noted as a "Controlled Flight into Terrain"....

Thank you, crashing sadly is part of the show, I have had many uncontrolled flights into terrain!

If you wanted to give it another go try and find a club that offers buddy box training, that way if it starts going wrong the instructor can just take back control. Whilst I wouldn't say RC flying is easy it's certainly easier than it first seems.

Got some air under the wings of my Caribou from a Mitchell conversion.

Also working on a re-do, had previously converted and painted up my UM Timber
to a semi scale Just Aircraft Super STOL based on a real one in New Zealand.

The Grandaddy of STOL aeroplanes, not a 100% scale conversion as I wanted
to hang onto the Timbers, excellent flying characteristics, she will get a wartime
Storch paint scheme!
