I bought the Syhart decals for XV404 in the (unflown) retirement scheme.
There are enough photos about to help the build and I have a tin of Revell RAL 3028 which appears close enough to the orange/yellow used.
My question is over the intake colours. All the pictures I see make me think that the intakes may have been sprayed black - or she is using black intake covers. Otherwise it's going to be the mucky white of the grey scheme. Any ideas?
I know the complete tail plane and exhausts were also painted black which makes the build much easier.
Thanks

Re: XV404 Tiger Phantom
I think there were black intake blanks in the nice press photos but if you look at some of the photos of her 'retirement' after stripping it does look like black painted intake surfaces as well. It makes sense, if I was doing the painting and wanted it to look right the standard grey in the intakes would really bug me by clashing with the special scheme. Sad end for such an aircraft. Anyway, see what you think of the photos, no idea who the copyright belongs to...
