Re: Duxford Diary 2022
Duxford Saturday 2nd April:
Sunshine and showers again, but two Hurricanes and three Spitfires provided plenty of entertainment today.
The Hurricane Heritage fleet (R4118, BE505 and Harvard FE511) departed for a photoshoot and a day at White Waltham. Two-seater BE505 is also available for rides with Aerial Collective (starting at £2875)
Spitfires PT462 and ML407 were active today, but star of the show was 'Grey Nurse' A58-606 (G-AWGB, onetime TE308).
Making a return to Duxford, last visit was 1968 (!) Today visiting from Biggin Hill to provide rides with Classic Wings:
Many thanks to BH

Duxford Tuesday 5th April:
Vampire LN-DHY is a familiar sight at Duxford, but she arrived yesterday in new markings as 'WA123'. This is for a film being shot of Frederick Forsythe's classic Christmas ghost story 'The Shepherd'. John Travolta (a one-time Vampire owner) is involved. He was apparently spotted in Morrisons in Fakenham !!
Staggerwing G-BRVE was out for a run this morning:

Re: Duxford Diary 2022
Or perhaps use the East Kirkby Mossie for taxying shots and CGI for the flying sequences?
Re: Duxford Diary 2022
Watching some videos on Youtube, they were doing an engine change on the Mossie, so not sure how complete it is at the moment.Fargo Boyle wrote: ↑Tue 05 Apr 2022, 6:25 pmOr perhaps use the East Kirkby Mossie for taxying shots and CGI for the flying sequences?

Duxford Saturday 9th April:
Classic Wings came up trumps again today, using the unique Spitfire HF.VIII Trainer on a rare visit away from its Biggin Hill base.
For a machine with no operational service, it has a long list of achievements, (including: never restored (but mended many times !), raced in King's Cup and flown by Prince Charles)
Many thanks to Andy and all at CW
Some more from today:

Re: Duxford Diary 2022
So not only has Prince Charles flown the Spitfire but I believe he also learned to fly in the Chipmunk! And probably flown the 146 as well...
Re: Duxford Diary 2022
G-AIDN is a rare visitor to these northern climes!!!
Underneath my gruff exterior lies an even gruffer interior...
Re: Duxford Diary 2022
Has it been to Duxford since the mid-70s?

Duxford Tuesday 19th April:
BAe146 ZE701 was repositioned on the Eastern apron this morning to make room for tomorrow's big event:
Tomorrow morning Victor XH648 will leave Hangar 5 after five and a half years work and park on the Eastern apron before entering the Airspace Conservation Area. (Outer wings and tailplane will be added later). The chin radome was added today.
Here's something you don't see every day:

Re: Duxford Diary 2022
The Victor looks really smart and Airliner Row all look like they've recently had a wash!
What's happened to the F-15 Eagle that used to be parked, where there appears to be some repair work being carried out, on the apex of the path, leading up to the entrance to the AAM?

Re: Duxford Diary 2022
F15 now hangs pride of place in the AAM as you come through the main entrance to the hangar.

Re: Duxford Diary 2022
Victor looking beautiful, she is a credit to all those that have worked to help restore her. Can't wait to see here done.
