Rumour is a brace of A-10s are due in Europe soon.
Just the two or should that be a drove of A-10s?
Brace is fine for two but the collective noun for A-10s could be “storm” ( of thunderbolts) or “Sounder” of Warthogs.

If a listing has had an event removed - rather than assume its some sort of typo - it usually means what it says. Maybe they are coming, maybe they aren't, but right now I'm inclined to take that listing at face value.

Anything announced in due course would be a massive bonus of course.
Assumptions are only made in hope Mr Mackem.

Couple of good ones there. I went with a drove (of hogs(pigs)). Perhaps a little unfair. Still, will be good to see them come July  and possibly in our English Lake District (LFA17).

Updated 29th April, not good reading.

https://www.acc.af.mil/Home/Aerial-Even ... -schedule/
Assuming the pending airshow is Farnborough, there must have been a mistake removing RIAT off their schedule.
Perhaps the mistake was them listing RIAT in the first place?

RIAT is still on the main heritage flight schedule on their website though for both the A10 and F35. The one without it is from ACC website. Rather confusing lol.

There really isn't much point in second guessing any schedule other than the one DBH out out to be honest.

Swedish Historic Flight anyone?...

Let's hope the USAF update from DBH comes soon to put to bed any and all rumors and rumblings lol.

Regardless of what any air arm decides to send between now and July, I am just really looking forward to getting back to Fairford for 3 days of flying. DBH have been doing a great job.

Suns out, (its an omen) that today will bring a great update 🤞

*Waits for someone to respond saying 'but the weather has no relevance to the participation of an airshow in July'

Latest update - 5th May 2022
The German Air Force have confirmed their participation at RIAT 2022, bringing the total number of aircraft from the German miliary committed to RIAT 2022 up to 11 aircraft, which includes fighters, transport aircraft and helicopters! We're particularly pleased to be welcoming their CH-53G helicopter back to RAF Fairford, which we haven't seen for over a decade.

Following our continued discussions with the Romanian Air Force, we're pleased to announce they plan to send one of their Antonov An-30 to RIAT. The reconnaissance aircraft, known by it's NATO reporting name of 'Clank', will likely be one of the highlights of the static displays for aviation enthusiasts in July.

As part of our focus on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we will be welcoming a pair of helicopters types for static display with royal connections. Firstly a Wessex, as used by the Queen's Flight during the 1970s and 1980s, and secondly a Sea King as flown by the Duke of Cambridge.

We continue our engagement with a number of other Air Arms regarding possible attendance at RIAT 2022, with a healthy mix of aircraft for both flying and static displays still in discussion.

Three RIAT and UK airshow debuts in there, which is a true RIAT hallmark.

A340 may well be the first of type at RIAT (I can't remember all civvy appearances), a great catch and they are really smart.

An30 will become the fifth operator of the type to appear along with Czechia, Bulgaria, Russia and the Ukraine.

Always a bit worrying. Didn't the Poles say something similar in September 1939?

Superb update for the static park, and lots of ongoing countries to give us more to hope for!

Nice!

Went all the way to Bucharest to see one in 2019, never thought I’d get to see one over here.

A340 will certainly dominate the static.

Shaping up very nicely.

Scariest part of this update, no Hungarian Cancellation! (Doomed to cancel now I’ve said it).

I think we'll be getting a load of flying updates in a space of 1 or 2 weeks. I guess in the last 2 weeks of May.

Usually everything comes at once

A very pleasing update indeed in the static... The Clank... some Tonkas, a 340... a big German chopper. And a nod to the Royal 'copters too.

Departures day already shaping up to be a great day in the _ _ _ (won't jinx it).
Now officially qualifies as a 'regular' at Famous Dave's - El Centro

Absolute clanker of an update.

Can't remember the last time I saw an An30 up close, and Tornados are in the 'rare exciting cold war type' category now so bring it on!
