The annual Air Britain Fly In was held at North Weald over the weekend 9/10th June 2012.Grey skies and wind greeted the early visitors, unfortunately this seemed to keep the number of visiting aircraft down. However this did not dampen the spirits, there was still plenty of quality visitors to keep us happy. As the day went on the sun made an appearance to lift the spirits of everyone present, just in time for the classic jets Vampire and Jet Provosts to go up for a photo shoot. So what looked like being a fairly mundane day turned out to be a pretty good day out.Congratulations and thanks to the organisers and pilots for their determination to make it a very enjoyable day

It was a bit grey, windy and damp wasn't it?
Some nice pics here though, despite the weather... I particularly like the classic Cessna 150A G-ARFO....
(but then I would, that's me driving it )

I heard some guys talking and they said there was only 13 movements yesterday and most of them were residents. It looks as if you had a far better day than they said. A good weekend I would have said, sorry that I was working yesterday.

Second Hurricane shot is a peach, plenty of detail in the shadows AND a sky.
If a man speaks in the middle of a forest and no woman can hear him, is he still wrong?

I think this sentiment applies to all the wonderful Classic aircraft that are still around for us to enjoy, and I think we should applaud the many people whose engineering skills and of course the money who enable this to happen.
