Fast jet pilot training in crisis

Post by frank »

According to Sky News this is due to lack of instructors (OCU units), influx of foreign students (Qatar and Saudi ) and faulty aircraft (emerging problem with hawk engines).
“Recruits are spending months if not years flying desks as they wait for training slots to open” it quotes.
If true, it’s rather worrying or is it just click bait
Any views ?
